Book Reading of Urbantasm: The Dying City

Enjoy a book reading and Q&A with UChicago alumnus Connor Coyne, AB'01

Please join us for the Denver debut of Connor Coyne's magical teen-noir serial novel Urbantasm: The Dying City. Urbantasm is inspired by Coyne's experiences growing up in and around Flint, Michigan and has been praised by Nebula-nominee William Shunn as "a novel of wonder and horror."

Connor Coyne is a University of Chicago alumnus (AB'01) living and working in Flint today. He has many fond memories of too many coffees in the Reynolds Club, out-of-control UT parties, and study sessions in the Burton courtyard under the warm branches of a towering oak tree. Coyne's essay "Bathtime" was recently featured in the Picador anthology Voices from the Rust Belt, and his writing has appeared in, Belt Magazine, Santa Clara Review, and elsewhere.

The book reading and Q&A with Connor Coyne will be held at Dos Luces Brewery, one of Denver's newest breweries, founded and owned by Judd Belstock (AB'01) and specializing in unique corn-based beers. Jessica Lee Ehinger (AB'06) will facilitate the Q&A with Connor. Copies of Urbantasm will be available for purchase for $16 at the event.
